This Juneteenth, we’re celebrating freedom, resilience, and Black storytelling—past, present, and future. Whether you’re honoring the legacy of June 19, 1865, or creating new traditions with your little ones, there’s no better way to reflect and rejoice than through books that uplift our history and our hope.
Ten years ago, you’d see the same children’s books get shared time and time again in celebration of Juneteenth. I’m so glad that is no longer the case! Each year, several new books on this holiday have been released that tell the story in new and unique ways. Here is a Bookshop list of 20 titles that shine a light on our stories—full of love, pride, and purpose. 💚❤️🖤
